CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 14 OF
THE TAMARAC CITY CODE PERTAINING TO REGISTRATION OF
CERTAIN PERSONNEL BY AMENDING SECTION 14-39 TO PERMIT
VOLUNTARY REGISTRATION BY BUSINESSES NOT REQUIRED TO
HAVE REGISTRATION OF EMPLOYEES AND TO REQUIRE REGIS-
TRATION OF LAWN MAINTENANCE SERVICE EMPLOYEES; BY
REPEALING SECTION 14-40 REQUIRING HEALTH CARDS IN
CERTAIN INSTANCES; BY AMENDING SECTION 14-41 PERTAINING
TO FEES FOR POLICE IDENTIFICATION CARDS BY PROVIDING
THAT SAID FEES SHALL BE ESTABLISHED BY RESOLUTION OF
THE CITY COUNCIL; AMENDING SECTION 14-42 BY INCREASING
THE TERM OF REGISTRATION CARDS; BY AMENDING SECTION
14-43 BY MODIFYING THE INFORMATION REQUIRED TO BE
CONTAINED IN THE IDENTIFICATION CARDS; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING REPEALER; PROVIDING SEVERABILITY
OF INVALID PROVISION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Section 14-39 of the Tamarac City Code is amended
by adding the words, numerals and punctuation underscored, and by deleting the
words, numerals and punctuation struck through as follows:
Sec. 14-39. Required; verification by employer
Every person who manages, employs or is employed in any bar, saloon,
night club, hotel, apartment house, restaurant, service station, pool or billiard
parlor, golf or country club, persons seventeen years of age or older engaged
in the business of private garbage and trash collection, lawn maintenance service
employees, all domestic help, chauffeurs and all persons engaged in selling,
soliciting or demonstrating or otherwise calling from house to house or store to
store within the CYty shall register in a book of registration to be kept by the
police department, and shall be fingerprinted and photographed. Any business not
included in this section may voluntarily comply with the provisions thereof. Prior
to employing any person to perform any -of the above specified work, or to
continue to perform such work, the employer is required to verify that such persons
have registered in compliance with the provisions of this section.
SECTION 2: Section 14-40 of the Tamarac City Code is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3: Section 14-41 of the Tamarac City Code is amended by
adding the words, numerals and punctuation underscored, and by deleting the words,
numerals and punctuation struck through as follows:
Sec. 14-41. Fees.
A fee ef-three-del4ars in an amount determined by Resolution of the

graphed as required by section 14-39. Persons licensed to engage in or manage
businesses set forth in such section shall be required to register and be
fingerprinted and photographed but shall not be required to pay a registration
fee.
SECTION 4: Section 14-42 of the Tamarac City Code is amended
by adding the words, numerals and punctuation underscored, and by deleting the
words, numerals and punctuation struck through as follows:
Sec. 14-42. Term.
Each registration shall be valid for a period of eee five years
from the date of issuance.
SECTION 5: Section 14-43 of the Tamarac City Code is amended
by adding the words, numerals and punctuation underscored, and by deleting the
words, numerals and punctuation struck through as follows:
Sec. 14-43. Identification of registered persons.
Each person registering under this article shall be issued an identific
card, containing the photograph; and thumbprint and-s4gnatere of such person, as
well as his /her name;-addeesss and place of employment. and-deser4pt4m

person while in the city limits shall constitute a violation of this article.

SECTION 6: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this

any portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the part declared
to be invalid.
SECTION 9: This ordinance shall become effective upon its final
passage.
