CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO. 0-90-69
AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT A CONTRIBUTION TO THE BROWARD
COUNTY AREA AGENCY ON AGING IS A PUBLIC PURPOSE AND AUTHORIZES
A CONTRIBUTION THERETO NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF
SECTION 2--11.1 OF THE CITY CODE TO THE CONTRARY; PROVIDING
REPEALER TO THE EXTENT OF ANY CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby finds and determines that the
Broward County Area Agency on Aging provides services to residents of the City
of Tamarac and that said agency needs matching funds from local municipalities
in order to continue its fine work. A contribution to the Area Agency on Aging
"is found to be in the public interest and is determined to be for a public
purpose.
SECTION 2: Notwithstanding any provision of Section -2-11.1 of the
Tamarac City Code to the contrary, which section is determined repealed to the
extent of the conflict, the City Council of the City of Tamarac authorizes and
directs the staff to make payment to Broward Area Agency on Aging in the amount
of $3,000.00 for the fiscal year 1979/80.
SECTION 3: Should any section or provision of this ordinance or any
portion hereof or any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid,such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remainder hereof as a whole or any part hereof other than the part
declared to be invlaid.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall become effective upon its final
reading.
