ORDINANCE No. 0-87—,-3
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
0-87-22 PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
FIRt INSPECTION FEES; AMENDING SECTION I (A)
6 "NEW CONSTRUCTION" FROM $.05 PER SQUARE FOOT
TO $.015 PER SQUARE FOOT; PROVIDING FOR
7 CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
8 EFFECTIVE DATE.

10 WHEREAS, the City Council on May 13, 1987 adopted
11 Ordinance No. 0-87-22 pertaining to fire inspection fees; and
12 WHEREAS, revised calculations on new construction
13 evidences that the appropriate fee should be $.015 per square
14 foot as opposed to $.05 per square foot; and
1s WHEREAS, it is imperative to amend Ordinance No. 0-87-22
16 in order'for inspections of new construction to proceed in a
7 timely fashion.

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20 THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

22 SECTION 1: That Section I: (A) entitled, NEW
23 CONSTRUCTION, is hereby amended to read as follows:
24 FEES FOR FIRE INSPECTIONS:
25 (A) NEW CONSTRUCTION
?6 A fee in the amount of c` -B5* $.015 per square foot
-shall be levied on all new construction in the City
27 of Tamarac. This fee shall encompass plan review
and necessary fire inspections required prior to
28 the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.

SECTION 2: That the remainder of Ordinance No. 0-87-22
remains unchanged as set forth below:

of the initial inspection fee.
SECTION 3:
Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 5: If any provision of this Ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect

without the invalid provision or application, and to this end
the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be sever-
able.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon adoption and passage.

Attached please find the above -cited Ordinance which has
been forwarded to the appropriate staff person (see the
attached cover memorandum). This package is being submitted
for your careful review in order that any corrections,
changes or additions that you feel are necessary can be
implemented prior to the item being placed on the Council
Agenda.
This will also ensure that you have ample time to review
the legislation as opposed to waiting for submissiorr of the
agenda back-up.
As your City Attorney I must emphasize the importance of
your early review in order to resolve any legal questions
that you might have prior to the enactment of the
legislation. It is hopeful that this procedure will
