CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
ORDINANCE NO 0-90-
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE III, CONSTRUCTION,
MAINTENANCE, ETC., OF SIDEWALKS, SECTION 20-92(b),
BIKEWAY REQUIREMENTS GENERALLY, BY REVISING THE
WIDTH OF BIKEWAYS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined the need to
revise Tamarac's present design standards for bikeways; and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac City Council has reviewed the
recommendation of the City Engineer and has determined the
need to revise the applicable section of Tamarac's City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 That Section 20-92, Bikeway requirements
generally, of the Tamarac City Code is hereby amended as
follows:
(a) The following bikeway corridor is required
to be constructed in the public right-of-way:
Roadway Location Half Right-of-way width Line

(b) it is the duty of each owner of property
adjacent to bikeway corridors included in subsection (a)
above to construct or reconstruct and maintain in good
repair, concrete bikeways,--elgkt- f8� seven (7) feet wide,
for public purposes. The bikeway shall be a state department
of transportation class III bikeway located in the right -of
way abutting the right-of-way line constructed in accordance
with the City Code, section 10-188, "Sidewalks", as a
condition of receiving site plan or revised site plan
approval by the City Council. Prior to requesting a final
inspection for the contemplated construction, the property
owner shall request and receive approval of the bikeway
construction by the City Engineer.
SECTION 2
Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify this Ordinance.
SECTION 3 If any provision of this Ordinance or
the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect
without the invalid provision or application, and to this end
the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be
severable.
SECTION 4 This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon adoption and passage.
