ORDINANCE No. 0-90- 13
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
AMENDING CHAPTER 19 ENTITLED "SOLID WASTE" BY
ADDING A NEW SECTION 19--55 TO ARTICLE III
ENTITLED "RATES AND CHARGES AND BILLING
PROCEDURE" PROVIDING FOR THE IMPOSITION OF A
FEE OF 76 CENTS ($.76) PER MONTH FOR SINGLE
FAMILY AND OTHER RESIDENCES RECEIVING CURB-
SIDE PICKUP OF RECYCLABLE NEWSPAPER AS SET
FORTH IN ORDINANCE 0-90-7; PROVIDING THAT THE
BILLING SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
19--54 OF THE TAMARAC CODE; PROVIDING THAT THE
FEE MAY BE CHANGED BY RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac
believes that it is in the best interest of the residents of
Tamarac to provide for the recycling of certain items of
garbage and trash; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the costs of said
recycling be borne by the residents of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Article III of the Chapter 19 of the
Tamarac City Code is hereby amended by adding a new section
19-55, which -shall read as follows:
Sec. 19-55. Recyclinq Fee.
There is hereby established a fee of 76 cents ($.76) per
month for sinale family and other residences receiving
curbside icku of recyclable materials. The billing for
said service shall be effective from A ril 1, 1990, and' shall
conform to the billing procedures established in this
Article. The Citv Council may by Resolution make changes in
the rate set forth herein.
SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify this Ordinance.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conf lice.
SECTION 4: If any provision of this Ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect
without the invalid provision or application, and to this end
the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be sever-
able.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall become effective
April 1, 1990.
