Ord. # /,'/q% I2 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA ORDINANCE No. 0-90- vZ 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 24, "ZONING", ARTICLE II, "ADMINISTRATION", DIVISION III, "PLANNING COMMISSION", BY PROVIDING THAT THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION SHALL BE FIVE (5) MEMBERS WHO SHALL SERVE TWO (2) YEAR STAGGERED TERMS AND AN ALTERNATE MEMBER WHO SHALL SERVE FOR ONE (1) YEAR; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATIONt PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it is hereby found by the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida that it is in the best interests of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City to provide for an effective and efficient Planning Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: Section 24-61 of the City Code of the City of Tamarac is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 24-61. Created; members. (a) There is hereby created a planning commission consisting of seven--47} five (5) members, each of whom shall serve for a term of two (2) years; except, that three (3) of the first-seven-{7} five (5) members of such commission shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, so that the terms of the members may be staggered, and shall. expire on April 15 of the appropriate year. (b) The city council shall appoint no more than seven 474 one (1) alternate member s to serve for a term of one (1) year expiring April 15; and in the absence or inability of any regular member of the planning commission to serve, then such alternate es--xnny-be-requested -bp-the-eieirmeri-ef tie-pier�nir�g--eexe+issxen shall thereupon -serve in the place 1 2 3 4 L[ . 9 0 3 of the regular member a with all the powers and duties as are vested in the regular member. SECTION 2: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this Ordinance. SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given affect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be sever- able.
