SPECIAL JOINT CITY COMMISSION
AND CHARTER BOARD MEETING
JUNE 23, 2000
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Schreiber called the Special Joint City Commission and
Charter Board meeting to order on Friday, June 23, 2000, at 10:00 A.M., in Conference
Room #105, at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 N.W. 881h Avenue, Tamarac, Florida.
CITY COMMISSION - PRESENT: Mayor Joe Schreiber, Vice Mayor Karen L. Roberts,
Commissioner Edward C. Portner, and Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof.
ABSENT AND EXCUSED FOR CAUSE: Commissioner Larry Mishkin.
CHARTER BOARD — PRESENT: Bert Buckley, Chairman, Marcia Kantorwitz, Vice -
Chair, Harvey Kram, and E. Lorna Bryan.
ABSENT: Benjamin Hutt.
REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE — PRESENT: Harvey Kram, Chairman, Hubert S.
Klombers, and Jerome Ginsberg.
ABSENT AND EXCUSED FOR CAUSE: Susan McCampbell.
ABSENT: Barry Miller.
There was discussion regarding when redistricting would be revisited, and City Attorney
Kraft said that whatever is done today will stay in effect until the 2002 election.
Mr. Klombers reviewed the Redistricting Committee's Report, moving Precinct 16J out
of District 1 and into District 2, and Precinct 7J out of District 2 and into District 3.
Vice Mayor Roberts seconded by Commissioner Partner moved to receive the
Redistricting Committee's report. On roll call Vice Mayor Roberts voted "yes",
Commissioner Portner "yes", Commissioner Sultanof "yes", and Mayor Schreiber "yes".
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the City Commission, Mayor Schreiber
adjourned the Joint Meeting of the City Commission and the Charter Board at 10:15
a.m.
