SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20, 2018
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Dressler called the Special Meeting of the City Commission
to order at 9:03 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2018, at the Colony West Golf Club, 6800
NW 88th Avenue, Tamarac, FL, 33321.
PRESENT: Mayor Harry Dressler, Vice Mayor Michelle J. Gomez, Commissioner Julie
Fishman and Commissioner Debra Placko. Commissioner Marlon Bolton arrived at 9.17
a.m.
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Michael Cernech, Assistant City Manager Kathleen
Gunn, City Attorney Samuel S. Goren and City Clerk Patricia Teufel.
1. TR13133 - Authorize and Direct Co -Trustees of the Tamarac Land Trust to Execute
Three Lease Agreements: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, authorizing and directing Alan J. Polin, P.A., as Co -Trustee under the Tamarac
Land Trust Agreement dated July 10, 2013, to execute that certain Termination of
Ground Lease, attached hereto as Exhibit 1", by and between Alan J. Polin, P.A. as
Co -Trustee and JKM Tamarac Village, LLC; authorizing and directing Alan J. Polin,
P.A., as Co -Trustee under the Tamarac Land Trust Agreement dated July 10, 2013, to
execute that certain Ground Lease Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "2", by and
between Alan J. Polin, P.A. as Co -Trustee and JKM TV MF1, LLC, for the purpose of
developing the Tamarac Village Property being more particularly described in Exhibit "2"
attached hereto and incorporated herein; authorizing and directing Alan J. Polin, P.A.,
as Co -Trustee under the Tamarac Land Trust Agreement dated July 10, 2013, to
execute that certain Ground Lease Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "3", by and
between Alan J. Polin, P.A. as Co -Trustee and JKM TV MF2, LLC, for the purpose of
developing the Tamarac Village Property being more particularly described in Exhibit "3"
attached hereto and incorporated herein; authorizing and directing Alan J. Polin, P.A.,
as Co -Trustee under the Tamarac Land Trust Agreement dated July 10, 2013, to
execute that certain Ground Lease Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit 'A", by and
between Alan J. Polin, P.A. as Co -Trustee and JKM TC C, LLC, for the purpose of
developing the Tamarac Village Property being more particularly described in Exhibit 'A"
attached hereto and incorporated herein; authorizing the City Manager to periodically
direct the Co -Trustees under the Tamarac Land Trust Agreement dated July 10, 2013
to approve minor nonmonetary amendments to and execute any memorandums of
lease associated with the ground lease(s) included in Exhibits "2", "3", and 'A"; providing
for conflicts; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date.
City Attorney Goren read TR13133 by title into the record. Vice Mayor Gomez
seconded by Commissioner Placko moved approval of TR13133. Finance Director
Mason appeared and gave a presentation, a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's
Office. Finance Director Mason ended by saying we are asking the Commission to
authorize and direct the Co -Trustee of the Land Trust to terminate the existing lease

and enter into the three new leases. Finance Director Mason responded to a few
questions and comments from the Commission. Motion passed unanimously (5-0).

2. Other
There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Commission, Mayor
Dressler adjourned the special meeting at 9.27 a.m.
