CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2018 - /
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT OF PHILIP E.
FORSBERG, III AS A TRUSTEE OF THE POLICE
PENSION BOARD TO SERVE A TWO-YEAR
TERM ENDING SEPTEMBER 2, 2020 OR UNTIL
NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE MADE; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 16-571(a) of the Tamarac Code provides for
appointment of Trustees to the Police Pension Board; and
WHEREAS, Section 16-571(a)(3) provides one (1) Trustee shall be
appointed as the 5th Member Trustee by the other four Trustees on the Board and
appointed as a ministerial act by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, Ron Holt has been serving on the Tamarac Police Board as 5th
Member Trustee since 2001 and resigned the Trustee position with an effective
date of August 31, 2018; and
WHEREAS, at the meeting on August 16, 2018, the Tamarac Police
Pension Board appointed Philip E. Forsberg, III as the new 5th Member Trustee to
the Tamarac Police Pension Board; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of confirming the appointment
of Philip E. Forsberg, III as 5th Member Trustee to the Police Pension Board to

serve a two-year term ending September 2, 2020, or until such time as
reappointments are made; and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac Police Pension Board of Trustees recommend
approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to confirm
the appointment of Philip E. Forsberg, III as the 5t' Member Trustee to the Tamarac
Police Pension Board of Trustees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a
specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac confirms the
appointment of Philip E. Forsberg, III, as the 5tn Member Trustee to the Tamarac
Police Pension Board to serve a two-year term, ending September 2, 2020 or until
new appointments are made.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or

invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
