R-2018- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING TWO RESIDENT TRUSTEES TO THE POLICE PENSION BOARD TO SERVE A TWO-YEAR TERM ENDING APRIL 26, 2020, OR UNTIL NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE MADE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 16-571 of the Tamarac Code provides for membership of the Police Pension Board; and WHEREAS, Resident Trustees shall be legal residents of the City of Tamarac appointed by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, on March 22, 2017, the City Commission approved Resolution R- 2017-24, appointing Tracey Brown -Martin and Sharon Spring to serve as Resident Trustees to the Police Pension Board to serve a 2-year term expiring on March 23, 2019, who have resigned leaving two (2) vacancies on the Board, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint two (2) Resident Trustees to the Police Pension Board to serve a new two-year term of office. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: Temp. Reso #13093 April 12, 2018 Page 2 of 3 SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 16-571 of the Tamarac Code, the following individuals are hereby appointed as Resident Trustees of the Police Pension Board for a two-year term expiring April 26, 2020, or until such time as new appointments are made: II11��:V I�]:7��i�6y:1�� �L\►1 RAMPERKASH SOEBHAG SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 11 �7 ;J 1 Temp.
