CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2017- 7(
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING IFB NO. 17-18B TO
AIP US, LLC FOR THE PURCHASE OF CISCO SYSTEMS
NETWORK SWITCHES IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$150,408.10, AND TO CSPI TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF CISCO SYSTEMS UCS
TELEPHONE SYSTEM SERVERS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT
OF $50,644.20; APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF CISCO
SYSTEMS NETWORK SWITCHES FROM AIP US, LLC AND
CISCO SYSTEMS UCS TELEPHONE SYSTEM SERVERS
FROM CSPI TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS; AUTHORIZING
AN EXPENDITURE FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$201,052.30; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, technology is one of the key components in the efficient delivery of
City services, and the City's network and telephone server infrastructure is critical to
ensuring continued operations, and
WHEREAS, the City's existing Cisco Systems network infrastructure that was
purchased in 2005, and the Cisco Systems telephone server infrastructure that was
purchased in 2012, are at the end of their lifecycle, and replacement is necessary to
support continued operations and to alleviate issues related to increasing data/network
traffic, use and capacity/performance requirements; and

WHEREAS, the City published Invitation for Bid (IFB) 17-18B for
Cisco Network Infrastructure Replacement, to obtain quotes for Cisco Systems network
switches and Cisco Systems UCS telephone system servers, in accordance with the
terms, conditions, and specifications contained in IFB 17-18B, available on file in the
Office of City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, nine (9) proposals were received with costs as indicated below:

WHEREAS, the proposal from AIP US, LLC was deemed as the least expensive
proposal for Cisco Systems network switches, and the proposal from CSPi Technology
Solutions was deemed as the least expensive proposal for Cisco Systems UCS telephone
system servers; and

WHEREAS, funds are available in the Capital Maintenance Fund budget for said
purposes; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Information Technology
and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the City Commission of the City of
Tamarac award IFB 17-18B to AIP US, LLC, and CSPi Technology Solutions; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to award IFB 17-18B
to AIP US, LLC, for the purchase of Cisco Systems network switches at a contract cost
of $150,408.10, and to CSPi Technology Solutions for the purchase of Cisco Systems
UCS telephone system servers at a contract cost of $50,644.20, for a total contract cost
of $201, 052.30.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
upon adoption hereof. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a
specific part hereof.

SECTION 2: The City Commission hereby awards IFB No. 17-18B to
AIP US, LLC, for the purchase of Cisco Systems network switches in the amount of
$150,408.10, and to CSPi Technology Solutions for the purchase of Cisco Systems UCS
telephone system servers in the amount of $50,644.20; and authorizes the appropriate
City Officials to execute Purchase Orders for the purchase of Cisco Systems network
switches and Cisco Systems UCS telephone system servers respectively.
SECTION 3: Funding is available for the purchase of Cisco Systems network
switches and Cisco Systems UCS telephone system servers from the appropriate
accounts for a total cost not to exceed $201,052.30.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
