A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE
ADJUSTMENT FACTOR TO BE APPLIED TO THE
ANNUAL WATER AND SEWER RATE SCHEDULE FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2016;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac operates and maintains public water and
wastewater facilities that provide service to certain properties located in the City of
Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 22 of the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinances authorizes
the establishment of rates for the operation of the City's public utility system by
resolution after a duly noticed public hearing; and
WHEREAS, Section 22-96 (b) provides for an automatic adjustment of the water
and sewer rates annually pursuant to the U.S. Consumer Price Index Water and
Sewerage Maintenance Index; and
WHEREAS, Section 22-96 of the City of Tamarac Code of Ordinances provides
for the City Commission to use an adjustment factor other than the U.S. Consumer
Price Index Water and Sewerage Maintenance Index to be applied to the water and
sewer rates annually, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has performed a Revenue Sufficiency Analysis
for the Water and Sewer Utility System, titled the FY 2015 Water and Sewer Revenue

Sufficiency Analysis, and
WHEREAS, the objective of the FY 2015 Water and Sewer Revenue Sufficiency
Analysis is to ensure that the Utility has sufficient annual revenues to meet its financial
requirements, and to identify a plan of future rate increases that would provide adequate
revenue to fund the Utility's operating, capital, debt service (including coverage), and
reserve requirements over a multi -year projection period
WHEREAS, the FY 2015 Water and Sewer Revenue Sufficiency Analysis
indicates that the Utility does not require a rate adjustment to meet its revenue
requirements during FY 2016 — FY 2018
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT. -
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The water and sewer rate schedule currently in effect shall
have an adjustment factor of zero (0) percent applied to it for the fiscal year beginning
October 1, 2016.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid,
in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or

applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective on October 1, 2016.
