RESOLUTION NO. R- 2015 4,--Z
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO APPROVE
EXPENDITURES TO SAMMET POOLS, INC., FOR POOL
REPAIRS AT THE CAPORELLA AQUATIC CENTER IN
THE AMOUNT OF $81)873-00 FOR FY 15 NUNC PRO
TUNC, INCLUDING A CONTINGENCY IN THE AMOUNT
OF $5,772.50 ADDED TO THE PROJECT BUDGET FOR
UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, funds were appropriated in the Adopted Fiscal Year 2015 Budget for
necessary pool repairs at the Caporella Aquatic Center; and
WHEREAS, regular maintenance and some emergency repairs are required for
the pool at the Caporella Aquatic Center to keep it operating at optimal levels; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac Parks and Recreation Department must
coordinate these repairs and projects as part of an ongoing maintenance program for
the pool; and
WHEREAS, Sammet Pools, Inc., is a reliable vendor who is familiar with the pool
equipment at the Caporella Aquatic Center and with the various issues experienced at
the facility; and

WHEREAS, the aggregate annual expenditure thus far for pool repairs at the
Caporella Aquatic Center during FY15 was $76,100.50; and
WHEREAS, the City anticipates that the cost of pool repairs at the Caporella
Aquatic Center by Sammet Pools, Inc., for FY15 will not exceed $81,873 including a
contingency of $5,772.50; and
WHEREAS, City Commission approval is required for expenditures in excess of
the State of Florida threshold for Category Three as defined in the F.S. §287.017(3))
currently set at $65,000 per City of Tamarac Code §6-145; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation, Director of Financial Services,
and Purchasing and Contracts Manager have determined that it is in the City's best
interest to approve expenditures to Sammet Pools, Inc. for pool repairs at the Caporella
Aquatic Center in the amount of $81,873 for FY 15 nunc pro tunc, including a
contingency in the amount of $5,722.50 added to the project budget for unforeseen
circumstances; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the City of Tamarac to approve expenditures to Sammet Pools,
Inc., for pool repairs at the Caporella Aquatic Center in the amount of $81,873 for FY 15
nuns pro tunc, including a contingency in the amount of $5,722.50 added to the project
budget for unforeseen circumstances.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are HEREBY ratified and
confirmed
as being true
and correct
and are hereby made a
specific part of this
Resolution
upon adoption
hereof and
all exhibits referenced and
attached hereto are
incorporated herein and made a specific part of this resolution.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are authorized to expend $81,873 for
FY 15 nunc pro tunc, to Sammet Pools, Inc., for pool repairs at the Caporella Aquatic
Center, including a contingency in the amount of $5,722.50 added to the project budget
for unforeseen circumstances.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 4: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of this Resolution that can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be
severable.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective
passage and adoption.
