CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R- 2014 11 W
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO APPROVE
EXPENDITURES FOR TIRES USED BY VARIOUS CITY
DEPARTMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $76)051.35 FOR FY14
NUNC PRO TUNC, AND FOR FY15 PURCHASES OF TIRES
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $80,000.00 TO
TIRESOLES OF BROWARD, INC. UTILIZING THE FLORIDA
SHERIFF'S ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT #14/15-06-0131
FOR TIRES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, funds were appropriated in the Adopted Fiscal Year 2014 and Fiscal
Year 2015 Budgets for tires; and
WHEREAS, various City Departments and the City of North Lauderdale utilize the
services of the Public Services Department Public Works Fleet Division; and
WHEREAS, the Public Services Department Public Works Fleet Division orders tires
on behalf of City Departments and the City of North Lauderdale as part of ongoing vehicle
maintenance services provided to these agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Sheriff's Association awarded contract #14/15-06-0131 for
Tires to Tiresoles of Broward, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, City of Tamarac Code, §6-148 allows the Purchasing Officer the
authority to waive purchasing procedures and purchase goods and services which are the
subject of contracts with other governmental agencies; and
and
WHEREAS, the final aggregate annual cost of tires during FY14 was $76,051.35;
WHEREAS, the City anticipates that the cost of tires for FY15 for various City
Departments and the City of North Lauderdale will not exceed $80,000.00; and
WHEREAS, City Commission approval is required for expenditures in excess of the
State of Florida threshold for Category Three as defined in the F.S. §287.017(3), currently
set at $65,000 per City of Tamarac Code §6-145; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Services, Director of Financial Services, and
Purchasing and Contracts Manager have determined that it is in the City's best interest to
approve the FY14 expenditure of $76,051.35 nunc pro tunc and authorize the appropriate
City Officials to approve purchases of up to $80,000.00 during FY15 for tires utilizing the
Florida Sheriff's Association awarded contract #14/15-06-0131 with Tiresoles of Broward,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the City of Tamarac to approve the FY14 expenditure of $76,051.35
nunc pro tunc and authorize the appropriate City Officials to approve purchases of up to

$80,000.00 during FY15 for tires utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Association awarded contract
#14/15-06-0131 with Tiresoles of Broward, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1:
The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are HEREBY ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
upon adoption hereof and all exhibits referenced and attached hereto are incorporated
herein and made a specific part of this resolution.
SECTION 2:
The appropriate City Officials are authorized to expend
$76,051.35 for FY14 nunc pro tunc and are authorized to approve purchases of up to
$80,000.00 during FY15 for tires utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Association awarded
contract #14/15-06-0131 with Tiresoles of Broward, Inc.
SECTION I
All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4:
If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications of this Resolution that can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5:

This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
