A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
TO THE FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION
COMMISSION FOR FLORIDA BOATING IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM (FBIP) GRANT FUNDS FOR THE VETERANS' PARK
BOAT DOCK PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$100,000, PROVIDING FOR UP TO A $100,000 MATCH IN
LOCAL FUNDS IN ADDITION TO STAFF TIME FROM THE
PROJECT IN THE EVENT OF APPROVAL OF THE
APPLICATION; PROVIDING FOR ACCEPTANCE OF THE
AWARD AND EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS UPON
APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to provide its
residents and visitors a higher level of service by enhancing and improving its outdoor
recreation facilities and environment; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) grant provides funds to
local governments to improve recreational boating facilities; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for a boat dock and lighting at Veterans' Park; and

WHEREAS, the granting agency requires and the City is willing to match the FBIP
grant program request of up to $100,000 with up to $100,000 in local funds in addition to staff
time from the project in the event of approval; and
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the grant program that this Resolution be adopted
and become an official part of the grant application; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Financial Services and Director of Public Services
recommend approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the best
interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to submit an application to the
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for FBIP grant funds to enhance
recreational boating opportunities at Veterans' Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. All exhibits
attached hereto and referenced herein are expressly incorporated and made a specific part of
this Resolution.

Section 2: The appropriate City Officials are HEREBY authorized to submit a Florida
Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) grant program application in an amount not to exceed
$100,000 to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, providing for the required
match of up to $100,000 in local funds in addition to staff time from the project for the provision of
the Veterans' Park boat dock project. A copy of said application form is attached hereto as
Exhibit A.
Section 3: Upon approval of the application, the appropriate City officials are HEREBY
authorized to accept the award and execute the necessary documents following legal review
and approval.
Section 4: An appropriation for the receipt and expenditure for this grant will be included in a
budget amendment prior to November 30, 2013 pursuant to F.S. 166.241(2)
Section 5: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are HEREBY
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6: If any clause, section, or other part or application of this Resolution is held by
any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or application of this Resolution.
Section 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
adoption.

General Instructions:
• Submit one (1) signed original and two (2) copies.
• Submit an electronic copy of application on CD.
• Staple application in upper left-hand corner, or clip with one binder clip. DO NOT
SPIRAL BIND OR PLACE IN A THREE-RING BINDER OR REPORT COVER.
• Please place a tabbed divider between each attachment.
• Please make all photocopies of attachments on paper no larger than I I" x 17".
