CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2013- q(
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT A
DONATION OF FOUR (4) FLAT SCREEN
TELEVISIONS VALUED AT APPROXIMATELY $5,220
FROM WAY OF LIFE CHURCH FOR USE IN THE
TAMARAC COMMUNITY CENTER; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac hosts a number of special events and provides
various programming and activities for its residents and visitors alike; and
WHEREAS, in addition to City of Tamarac special events, programs and
activities, certain facilities are available for rent by those wishing to host their own
programs and activities at a City -owned facility; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is entering into a rental agreement with Way of
Life Church for use of Tamarac Community Center facilities; and
WHEREAS, Way of Life Church has a need to broadcast their activities for the
viewing ease of their participants; and
WHEREAS, Way of Life Church, wishes to donate four (4) flat screen televisions
valued at approximately $5,220 for use in the Tamarac Community Center, including
three (3) installed in the Ballroom, and one (1) installed in the Coconut Palm Room; and

WHEREAS, said donated televisions will benefit the City of Tamarac and Way of
Life Church as they will be utilized by the rental group to meet their needs and also by
the City of Tamarac for special events, programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, Sec. 6-156.3 of the Tamarac City Code provides that donations
other than sponsorships of City events, with an estimated value exceeding one
thousand dollars ($1,000), shall be approved by the City Commission prior to
acceptance; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Financial
Services recommend that the City of Tamarac accept a donation from Way of Life
Church of four (4) flat screen televisions valued at approximately $5,220 for use in the
Tamarac Community Center by the rental group and for City special events, programs
and activities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to accept a
donation from Way of Life Church of four (4) flat screen televisions valued at
approximately $5,220 for use in the Tamarac Community Center by the rental group
and for City special events, programs and activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are hereby incorporated herein by this reference.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac accepts a donation from Way of Life Church of
four (4) flat screen televisions valued at approximately $5,220 for use in the Tamarac
Community Center by the rental group and for City special events, programs and
activities.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.

I am pleased to advise you that at its meeting on May 22, 2013, the Tamarac City
Commission approved accepting a donation of four (4) flat screen televisions from Way
of Life Church for use in the Tamarac Community Center. A copy of the approved is
enclosed for your files.
Mr. Gregory Warner, Director of Parks and Recreation, will be your contact with
the City concerning this matter. Please feel free to contact him at (954) 597-3638.
However, if there should be any problems of a serious consequence, I expect you to
advise me directly and immediately.
