CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2012-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE
FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES 2012 LEGISLATIVE
ACTION AGENDA; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
TRANSMIT A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION
TO THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES, THE FLORIDA
LEAGUE OF CITIES, THE BROWARD COUNTY
LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, AND ANY OTHER
INTERESTED PARTIES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Florida League of Cities prepares an annual Legislative
Action Agenda as a means to provide input to the Legislature relative to issues of
importance to municipalities throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Legislative Action Agenda includes a number of
important issues among them Pension Reform; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac City Commission honors and respects the
service provided and sacrifices made by firefighters and police officers and supports
responsible reform that will ensure benefits are sustainable; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac wishes to further express that in considering
pension reform the City urges all legislators to consider the individuality of each
municipality and thus provide municipalities with flexibility so that City administration,
firefighters and police officers can work together to structure a plan that best meets
the needs of all involved; and

WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac City Commission believes the adoption of
The Florida League of Cities 2012 Legislative Action Agenda would be in the best
interests of the residents and businesses of the City of Tamarac and the State of
Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clause is hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific
part of this resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission of the City of Tamarac hereby
supports the Florida League of Cities 2012 Legislative Action Agenda, a copy being
attached hereto as Exhibit A.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is hereby directed to distribute a certified
copy of this Resolution to the Broward County Legislative Delegation, the Florida
League of Cities, the Broward League of Cities, each of the municipalities within
Broward County, and the Broward County Commission.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.

This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its passage and adoption.
