RESOLUTION NO. R-2012-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE FIRE RESCUE DEPARTMENT TO INCREASE
THE DOLLAR AMOUNT FOR PURCHASING
FIRE/MEDICAL SUPPLIES FROM BROWARD
COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, FIRE RESCUE
DIVISION LOGISTICS WAREHOUSE (BSO
LOGISTICS) FOR THE REMAINDER OF FY12, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY
THOUSAND ($30,000.00) DOLLARS; AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO
EXECUTE A LIABILITY WAIVER FOR THE
PURCHASES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Tamarac Fire Rescue prepares for emergency situations,
such as hurricanes through the maintenance of appropriate medical supplies and
equipment to meet anticipated workloads during an emergent event; and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Fire Rescue is against the purchase limit of
$100,000 granted in Resolution R-2011-108 due to the proximity of fiscal year
end; and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Fire Rescue is requesting approval to spend beyond
the amount originally authorized in Resolution R-2011-108 by up to $30,000.00
to an amount not to exceed $130,000.00; and

WHEREAS, the Tamarac Fire Rescue Department purchases many
different items from Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue Logistics Warehouse
(BSO Logistics); and
WHEREAS, BSO Logistics must comply with the purchasing requirements
of Broward County including the obtaining of bids; and
WHEREAS, BSO Logistics will sell supplies to the City of Tamarac for
cost; and
WHEREAS, purchases from Broward County allows Fire Logistics staff to
take advantage of regional purchasing; thereby, saving time and money; and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 6-155 allows the purchase of supplies,
materials and equipment utilizing contracts with governmental agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
authorize this dollar increase from the BSO Logistics.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this

Resolution. All Exhibits attached hereto are expressly incorporated herein and
made part a part hereof.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are authorized to approve the
increase in the dollar amount for purchasing medical supplies from BSO Logistics
for the remainder of FY12, in an amount not to exceed thirty thousand
($30,000.00) dollars.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
