CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2012- 10-3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE FIRE RESCUE DEPARTMENT TO INCREASE
THE DOLLAR AMOUNT FOR PURCHASING FIRE
AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES FROM BROWARD
COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, FIRE RESCUE
DIVISION LOGISTICS WAREHOUSE (BSO
LOGISTICS) FOR FY13 FROM ONE HUNDRED
THOUSAND ($100,0-00) TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND
($150,000) DOLLARS; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXTEND THE TOTAL DOLLAR
AMOUNT BY AN ADDITIONAL TWENTY FIVE
THOUSAND ($25,000) BASED UPON EXIGENT
CIRCUMSTANCES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Tamarac Fire Rescue is requesting approval to increase the
amount approved in in Resolution R-2011-108 from one hundred thousand
($100,000) to an amount not to exceed one hundred and fifty thousand
($150,000); and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Fire Rescue is requesting authorization for the City
Manager to extend the dollar amount by an additional twenty five thousand
($25,000) based upon exigent circumstances; and
WHEREAS, purchases from Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue
Logistics Warehouse (BSO Logistics) allows Tamarac Fire Logistics staff to take

advantage of regional purchasing; thereby, saving time and money; and
WHEREAS, BSO Logistics is able to purchase in large quantities with
discounts and will sell supplies to the City of Tamarac for cost; and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac Fire Rescue Department purchases many
different items from BSO Logistics; and
WHEREAS, BSO Logistics must comply with the purchasing requirements
of Broward County and the State of Florida including the obtaining of bids; and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 6-155 allows the purchase of supplies,
materials and equipment utilizing contracts with governmental agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
authorize this dollar increase for purchases from BSO Logistics.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing 'WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.

SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are authorized to approve the
increase in the dollar amount for purchasing supplies from BSO Logistics for
FY131 from one hundred thousand ($100,000) dollars to an amount not to exceed
one hundred and fifty thousand ($150,000) dollars.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is authorized to extend the dollar amount
of this purchasing agreement by an additional twenty five thousand ($25,000)
based upon exigent circumstances.
SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
