R-2012- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING TWO RESIDENT TRUSTEES TO THE FIREFIGHTER PENSION BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO SERVE FOUR-YEAR TERMS OF OFFICE ENDING FEBRUARY 27, 2016 OR UNTIL NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE MADE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 16-331 of the Tamarac Code provides for members of the Firefighters Pension Board; and WHEREAS, Resident Trustees shall be legal residents of the City of Tamarac appointed by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, James Moore was appointed to serve as a Resident Trustee to the Fire Pension Board on April 28, 2010; his term of office expired on February 27, 2012 and former Fire Pension Board Resident Trustee Rolando Hernandez resigned from the Fire Pension Board in October 2011; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint two Resident Trustees to the Fire Pension Board to serve four-year terms of office. Reso. #12174 March 28, 2012 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 16-331 of the Tamarac Code, the appointment of the following individuals are hereby appointed as Resident Trustees of the Fire Pension Board for a four-year term expiring February 27, 2016 or until such time as new appointments are made: ROBERTO HERNANDEZ JAMES MOORE SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
