RESOLUTION NO. R-2012 5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID NO. 12-
09B TO AQUAMARINE FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN
AQUATIC WEED HARVESTER MODEL H5-200S AND A
TRAILER MODEL TC-12K-2 IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID
NO. 12-09B FOR A CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $92,847.40;
AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE NOT TO EXCEED
$92,847.40 FROM THE APPROPRIATE ACCOUNTS;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City has been cutting and collecting aquatic vegetation in the
600 acres of public waterways with two (2) harvesters; and
WHEREAS, when said harvester is out of service due to maintenance,
scheduling is impacted; and
WHEREAS, due to the age, together with the additional maintenance to keep
harvester in service, it is recommended that the 2003 harvester and 2005 conveyor
trailer be replaced; and
WHEREAS, the use of an aquatic weed harvester reduces the volume of aquatic
plants that must be treated with chemicals; and
WHEREAS, the City published Invitation to Bid No.12-0913 for the purchase of
an Aquatic Weed Harvester, incorporated herein by reference and on file in the office of
Temp. Reso. # 12185

the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2012 the City of Tamarac received four (4) proposals
for the purchase of an Aquatic Weed Harvester, with Aquamarine, being the lowest
responsive bidder, a bid tabulation attached hereto as Exhibit "'I", incorporated herein
and made a specific part of this resolution; and
WHEREAS Aquamarine possesses the required knowledge and experience for
the commissioning of the Aquatic Weed Harvester and trailer and has agreed to the
Terms and Conditions, Special Conditions, and Technical Specifications of Bid No. 12-
0913; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Services and
Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the appropriate City Officials award Bid No. 12-
09B to Aquamarine for the purchase of an Aquatic Weed; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to award Bid No. 12-
09B to Aquamarine for the purchase of an Aquatic Weed Harvester at a contract cost
not to exceed $92,847.40; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this

Resolution upon adoption hereof. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein
and made a specific part of this resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission HEREBY awards Bid No. 12-09B to
Aquamarine for the purchase of an Aquatic Weed Harvester and trailer.
SECTION 3: Funds for the purchase of an aquatic weed harvester and
trailer were appropriated in the Adopted Fiscal Year Budget in Account Number 410-
5050-538.64-05.
SECTION 4: An expenditure for a contract cost of $92,847.40 for said
purpose is hereby approved.
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof
to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other
provisions or applications of this Resolution that can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to
be severable.
