CITY OF TAMARAC , FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2009- 07
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING THE APPOINTMENT OF
CITY COMMISSIONER PAMELA BUSHNELL AND ARTHUR
SPECTOR TO THE BROWARD COUNTY PLANNING COUNCIL;
DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
FOR BROWARD COUNTY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE,
WHEREAS, Section 8.02 of the Broward County Charter details the
composition of the Broward County Planning Council (the "Council"); and
WHEREAS, Section 8.02(c) specifically provides that each member of the
Board of County Commissioners for Broward County shall nominate two (2)
individuals to serve on the Council, with one (1) individual being an elected
municipal official from a municipality within each respective County Commissioner's
district and the other being an elector residing in the Commissioner's district; and
WHEREAS, County Commissioner Ilene Lieberman has requested that the
Mayor of each municipality within her district provide her with the names of two (2)
individuals meeting the requirements of Section 8.02(c) to be considered for
appointment to the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Tamarac (the
"City") has considered Commissioner Lieberman's request and recommends the
appointment of City Commissioner Pamela Bushnell and Arthur Spector to serve on
the Council; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission deems the appointment of
Commissioner Bushnell and Mr. Spector to be in the best interests of the citizens
and residents of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are confirmed and ratified
as being true and correct and are hereby incorporated herein. Section 2.
The Mayor and City Commission for the City of Tamarac, Florida hereby
recommend the appointment of City Commissioner Pamela Bushnell and Arthur
Spector to serve on the Broward County Planning Council.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this
Resolution to the Board of County Commissioners for Broward County.
Section 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.
Section G. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
