CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2009
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO PURCHASE AND
INSTALL NEW CARPET AT THE BSO BUILDING AT 7515
NW 88T" AVENUE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$22,137.83 FROM THE APPROPRIATE ACCOUNTS;
AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENTS AS NEEDED FOR
PROPER ACCOUNTING PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac through an agreement with the Broward Sheriffs
Office (BSO) maintains the BSO building located at 7515 NW 88t" Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the carpet is in need of replacement due to normal deterioration
resulting from normal wear and tear, timely replacement is important for the long term care
and maintenance of the facility and prevents costlier and more complex repairs in the
future; and
WHEREAS, the purchase and installation of the new carpet will require an
expenditure in an amount not to exceed $22,137.83; and
WHEREAS, upon approval of funding for this project, the appropriate City staff shall
utilize all necessary and proper purchasing procedures required to obtain quotations and
develop contracts as prescribed by the City Charter, the City Code and by City
Administrative Policy; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Purchasing and Contracts Manager
recommend that the appropriate City Officials enter into an agreement. for the replacement

of the BSO carpet; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to replace the BSO
carpet at a cost not to exceed $22,137.83.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City officials hereby authorize an expenditure in
the amount not to exceed $22,137.83 to purchase and install new carpet at BSO.
SECTION 3: Funding in an amount not to exceed $22,137.83 has been
approved.
SECTION 4: All budget amendments for proper accounting purposes are
hereby authorized.
SECTION 5: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications of this Resolution that can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be severable.

SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
SECTION 8: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
