CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2008-05"
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING F. GLEN WEINTRAUB TO
SERVE AS A REGULAR MEMBER TO THE PARKS AND
RECREATION BOARD TO COMPLETE AN UNEXPIRED TERM;
APPOINTING TWO ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE PARKS
AND RECREATION BOARD TO COMPLETE UNEXPIRED
TERMS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 11, 2007, the City Commission approved Resolution
R2007-98, appointing seven regular members and two alternate members to
serve on the Parks and Recreation Board; and
WHEREAS, on November 6, 2007, one alternate member of the Parks
and Recreation Board resigned, leaving a vacancy of one alternate on the Board;
and
WHEREAS, on December 6, 2007, one regular member of the Parks and
Recreation Board resigned, leaving a vacancy of one regular member on the
Board; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with §2-58(m) of the Tamarac Code, the
remaining alternate shall be appointed to serve as a regular member by majority
vote of the City Commission and shall serve the unexpired portion of the term of
the regular member who vacated his/her position; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with §2-58(m) of the Tamarac Code, the City
Commission shall also appoint a qualified individual(s) to the respective alternate
position(s); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint F.
Glen Weintraub as a regular member to the Parks and Recreation Board and two
alternate members to the Parks and Recreation Board in accordance with the
procedure set out in §2-58(m) of the Tamarac Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct, and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That F. Glen Weintraub, currently serving as an alternate
member of the Parks and Recreation Board is hereby appointed to serve as a
regular member of the Parks and Recreation Board to complete an unexpired
term ending November 17, 2009, or until a new appointment is made.
SECTION 3: The following people are hereby appointed by majority vote
of the Mayor and City Commission to serve as alternate members of the Parks
and Recreation Board to complete unexpired terms ending November 10, 2008
or until such time as reappointments are made:

SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
