CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2008-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO PURCHASE LAPTOP
COMPUTERS ($29,959.00) AND WARRANTY ($2,500.00)
FROM INSIGHT PUBLIC SECTOR IN THE AMOUNT OF
THIRTY TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY NINE
($32,459.00) DOLLARS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac through the Fire Department provides
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) transport;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac accepted an EMSTARS Assistance
Grant (Resolution # R-2008-75) in the amount of $62,750.00 for the purchase of
computer hardware ($27,750.00) and software ($35,000.00) for an electronic
patient data management system; and
WHEREAS, Insight Public Sector has provided the City of Tamarac with
the best competitive price for the purchase of ten (10) "Panasonic Toughbook
CF-19" laptop computers, as outlined in Exhibit `A" attached; and
WHEREAS, the City, utilizing the provisions of the City of Tamarac Code
6-155, has elected to procure computer equipment from Insight Public Sector
utilizing the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Mobile Data Terminal Replacement

BID#XF-0510-08 and associated purchasing contract, on file with the City Clerk's
Office, rather than initiating a City bid process; and
WHEREAS, funds for these purchases have been budgeted in the Fire -
Rescue FY08 budget, Project #GT08E, and through the Florida Bureau of
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) grant award; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief and Purchasing Contract Manager recommend
the computer hardware purchase using the City of Jacksonville's BID and
purchasing contract agreement, which is to be in the best interest of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
approve the computer hardware purchase from Insight Public Sector.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby
ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific
part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the Commission authorizes the purchase in the
amount of $32,459.00 from Insight Public Sector utilizing the City of
Jacksonville's bid and purchasing contract.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
