R-2008- /S6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP (SHIP) PROGRAM BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $529,737.00 BY ACCEPTING THE FISCAL YEAR 2008-2009 ALLOCATION OF THE PROGRAM FUNDS TO BE UTILIZED ACCORDING TO THE CITY'S LOCAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AND HOUSING DELIVERY GOALS CHART; THAT THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO APPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS INCLUDING ANY AND ALL SUBSEQUENT BUDGETARY TRANSFERS TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROPER ACCOUNTING STANDARDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FORAN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the State of Florida has notified the City of Tamarac of its Fiscal Year 2008-2009 annual grant allocation of State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program funds in the amount of $529,737.00 (attached hereto as Exhibit 1"); and WHEREAS, the City will utilize FY 2008-2009 funds according to its Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart (attached hereto as Exhibit "2"); and WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to accept the State of Florida's State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program budget in the amount of $529,737.00 by accepting the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 allocation of the Program funds to be Temp Reso #11472- August 27, 2008 Page 2 utilized according to the City's Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the appropriate City Officials accept the State of Florida's State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program budget in the amount of $529,737.00 by accepting the FY 2008-2009 allocation of Program funds to be utilized according to the City's Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart. SECTION 3: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to appropriate said funds, including any and all subsequent budgetary transfers to be in accordance with proper accounting standards. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
