R-2008- q0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING A DIRECTOR, ALTERNATE AND SECOND ALTERNATE TO THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO NOTIFY THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC'S APPOINTMENTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, belongs to the Broward League of Cities; and WHEREAS, The Broward Leagues of Cities has requested that the City of Tamarac appoint one Director, one Alternate and one Second Alternate for the 2008-2009 year (attached hereto as Exhibit 1). WHEREAS, The Broward League of Cities By -Laws provide that each municipality in Broward County appoint one Director, one Alternate and one Second Alternate to the Broward League of Cities; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint one Director, one Alternate, and one Second Alternate to the Broward League of Cities. Reso. #11383 Page 2 of 3 April 7, 2008 Revision #1 — 4/15/08 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the following members of the City Commission are hereby appointed as the City's Director, Alternate and Second Alternate to the Broward League of Cities: Beth Flansbaum-Talabisco Director Patte Atkins -Grad Alternate Harry Dressler Second Alternate SECTION 3: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to notify the Broward League of Cities of the City of Tamarac's appointments as requested by the Broward League of Cities (attached hereto as Exhibit 1). SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 I 1 1 SECTION 6: its passage and adoption.
