Reso #11400 Page 1 April 29, 2008 , FLORIDA 0 M � ,OMMISSION OF THE CITY RIZING THE APPROPRIATE kN APPLICATION TO THE LDLIFE CONSERVATION BOATING IMPROVEMENT RECREATIONAL BOATING PARK IN THE AMOUNT OF ERCENT MATCH OF $8,000 1TAL PROJECT COST OF :-PTANCE OF THE AWARD qTS UPON APPROVAL OF iING FOR CONFLICTS; ; AND PROVIDING FOR AN WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to provide its residents and visitors a higher level of service byl enhancing and improving its outdoor recreation facilities and environment; and WHEREAS, the Florida Boating I governments to improve recreational boating Program grant provides funds to local ities; and WHEREAS, there is a need for an extension of the boat launching ramp at Veterans' Park; and WHEREAS, the City is willing to match the 2008 Florida Boating Improvement Program grant request of $24,000 with a 25% match of the total project cost or $8,000 in local funds for a total of $32,000 in the event of approval of the application; and WHEREAS, acceptance of these grant funds requires the amending of estimated revenues and expenditures within the Grants Fu d Budget; and Temp. Reso #11400 Page 2 April 29, 2008 WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the grant program that this Resolution be adopted and become an official part of the application; and WHEREAS, the Assistant City Manager and Director of Parks and Recreation recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to submit an application to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for Florida Boating Improvement Program grant funds to enhance recreational boating opportunities at Veterans' Park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: The appropriate City Officials are HEREBY authorized to submit the Florida Boating Improvement Program grant application in the amount of $24,000 to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. A copy of said application is attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 3: Upon approval of the application, the appropriate City officials are HEREBY authorized to accept the award and execute the necessary documents following legal review and approval.
