CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2008- k
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA TO APPROVE
THE DONATION OF OBSOLETE FIRE
EQUIPMENT TO THE BROWARD FIRE
ACADEMY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac strives to provide quality services using the best
training, technology and equipment and during the past several years has replaced
obsolete tools and breathing apparatus with updated, more efficient equipment; and
WHEREAS Tamarac Fire Rescue has some Hurst Extrication equipment and
Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) which is obsolete, but may be used for
training and demonstration purposes and is outlined in the worksheet attached hereto
as "EXHIBIT A"; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac Fire Rescue has learned that the Broward Fire
Academy is interested in acquiring this equipment to enhance their training abilities; and
WHEREAS, transferring such equipment to the Broward Fire Academy would
enable the City of Tamarac to contribute to the training of future firefighters; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Fire Rescue, Chief Budzinski, recommends the
donation of this equipment to the Broward Fire Academy; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens to donate this obsolete fire equipment to the Broward
Fire Academy.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission authorizes the donation of Tamarac Fire
Rescue's obsolete Hurst and SCBA equipment, as listed in "Exhibit A" to the Broward
Fire Academy.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
