CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2008 -9O
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO AWARD BID NO. 08-
09E TO SCL A-1 PLASTICS, LTD. FOR THE PURCHASE OF
18 GALLON CURBSIDE RECYCLING BINS; AUTHORIZING
PURCHASE OF RECYCLING BINS IN QUANTITIES NEEDED
BASED UPON THE UNIT PRICE; AUTHORIZING BUDGET
AMENDMENTS FOR PROPER ACCOUNTING PURPOSES;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City has been a leader in recycling in Broward County; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages residents to increase overall recycling; and
WHEREAS, the City is responsible for providing recycling bins to all single family
residences within the City for curbside collection; and
WHEREAS, the City published invitation to bid number 08-09B for the purchase of
18 Gallon Curbside Recycling Bins, incorporated herein by reference and on file in the
Office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, four (4) bids were opened and reviewed in order to determine cost and
responsiveness to the City's technical specifications; and
WHEREAS, a tabulation of bids showing all bids for Bid No. 08-09B is included
herein as "Exhibit 1 "; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, SCL A-1 PLASTICS,
LTD. has agreed to provide 18 gallon curbside recycling bins, pursuant to the Terms &
Temp. Reso. # 11408

Conditions, Special Conditions, and Technical Specifications of Bid #08-09B; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Purchasing and Contracts Manager
recommend that the appropriate City Officials award bid 08-09B to SCL A-1 PLASTICS,
LTD for the purchase of 18 gallon recycling bins; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to award Bid No. 08-
09B to SCL A-1 PLASTICS, LTD for the purchase of 18 gallon recycling bins at the
quantities needed at the price and terms as set forth in Bid no. 08-09B.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: SCL A-1 PLASTICS, LTD is hereby awarded Bid No. 08-09B for
the purchase of 18 gallon curbside recycling bins at the price and terms set forth in Bid No.
SECTION 3: All budget amendments for proper accounting purposes are
hereby authorized.
SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions

or applications of this Resolution that can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
