Reso. #11417 Page 1 of 3 June 4, 2008 Revision #1 — June 17, 2008 Revision #2 —June 19, 2008 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA RESOLUTION R-2008- 9� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE CITY'S AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE; DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on March 12, 2008 the City of Tamarac (hereinafter referred to as the "City"), pursuant to State Housing Initiatives Partnership Act ("Act"), adopted Ordinance No. 2008-04, thereby creating the City's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, the Act expressly requires the City Commission to appoint eleven (11) members of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is tasked with the responsibility of advising the City Commission on matters related to affordable housing and the administration of state housing assistance programs such as the State Housing Initiatives Partnership; and WHEREAS, the City, through its Local Housing Assistance Plan, provides for the housing needs of its citizens, and promotes the efficient location, design, and provision of affordable housing; and WHEREAS, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is further intended to be another resource for the City to utilize when examining ways to offer and promote affordable housing options within the City; and Page 1 of 3 Temp. Reso. #11417 Page 2 of 3 June 4, 2008 Revision #1 — June 17, 2008 Revision #2 — June 19, 2008 WHEREAS, the City has properly advertised the opening of positions on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, and received a number of responses from qualified, interested individuals; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and residents of the City to appoint Andre McAden, David Fulcher, Alan Oshins, Earl Hams, Pamela Bushnell, Steven Barr, and Danny Santivasci to the City's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida hereby appoints the following individuals to the City's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee: 1) Andre McAden; 2) David Fulcher; 3) Alan Oshins; 4) Earl Harris; 5) Pamela Bushnell; 6) Steven Barr; and 7) Danny Santivasci 8) Yvonne Williams 9) Kimberly Hackett 10) Courtnee Biscardi Section 3. The City Staff is hereby directed to take any and all action necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution. 1 Page 2 of 3 Temp. All resolutions or parts of resolutions on in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 5. If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
