CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2007-_)6_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MAYOR
BETH FLANSBAUM-TALABISCO AS THE CITY'S
DIRECTOR TO THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES;
APPOINTING COMMISSIONER HARRY DRESSLER AS
THE CITY'S ALTERNATE TO THE BROWARD LEAGUE
OF CITIES; AND APPOINTING COMMISSIONER PATTE
ATKINS-GRAD AS THE CITY'S SECOND ALTERNATE TO
THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO NOTIFY THE
BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC'S APPOINTMENTS; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, belongs to
the Broward League of Cities; and
WHEREAS, The Broward Leagues of Cities has requested that the City of
Tamarac appoint one Director, one Alternate and one second Alternate for the 2007-
2008 year (attached hereto as Exhibit 1)
WHEREAS, The Broward League of Cities By -Laws provide that each
municipality in Broward County appoint one Director, one Alternate and one second
Alternate to the Broward League of Cities as; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to
be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint

one Director, one Alternate, and one second Alternate to the Broward League of
Cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: That Mayor Beth Flansbaum-Talabisco is hereby
appointed as the City's Director to the Broward League of Cities.
SECTION 3: That Commissioner Harry Dressler is hereby appointed
as the City's Alternate to the Broward League of Cities.
SECTION 4: That Commissioner Patte Atkins -Grad is hereby
appointed as the City's second Alternate to the Broward League of Cities.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to notify
the Broward League of Cities of the City of Tamarac's appointments of Director,
Alternate, and second Alternate as requested by the Broward League of Cities
(attached hereto as Exhibit 1).
SECTION 6: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 7: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or

invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 8:

RE: Board of Directors2007-2008
President Lori Moseley will soon be appointing a Nominations Committee to
prepare a slate of candidates for Director, Alternates, and Second Alternates of
the Broward League of Cities for the 2007-2008 year.
According to the League By -Laws, each city shall appoint a Director, Alternate,
and Second Alternate to attend and vote at any Board of Director or General
Membership Meeting held where he/she represents his/her city.
By this memo, the League is requesting each municipality to add this item to its
upcoming Commission agenda for consideration no later than the second
meeting in March. Please return the following information to this office by email
