RESOLUTION NO. R-2006-1sad
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. R-2003-62; AMENDING THE RULES OF
PROCEDURE FOR THE CITY COMIVIISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC BY ADDING SECTION 10 TO PROVIDE GUIDELINES FOR
USES OF THE CITY SEAL, CITY LOGO AND OTHER INCIDENTS OF
OFFICE FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS AND FORMER ELECTED
OFFICIALS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac (hereinafter refereed to as the
"City") adopted Resolution No. R-2003-62 on March 18, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-2003-62 was subsequently revised on two occasions
thereafter, the last revision being on March 24, 2003, a copy of the resolution is attached hereto as
Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission now seeks to amend the Rules of Procedure for the City
Commission of the City of Tamarac by adding Section 10 to provide guidelines by which elected
officials and former elected officials may display and exhibit the City Seal, the City Logo and other
Incidents of Office; and
WHEREAS, the City Seal and the City Logo are generally regarded as the official symbols
and indicia of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, in an effort to avoid confusion and misrepresentation,
seeks to limit the manner in which elected officials and former elected officials may display the City
Seal, the City Logo, and other Incidents of Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct and hereby ratified
and confirmed by the City Commission.
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby provides that Section 10 is added to the Rules
of Procedure for the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, providing guidelines for the uses of
the City Seal, the City Logo, and other Incidents of Office for elected officials and former elected
officials, as follows:
10. City Seal. City 1,ogo and Incidents of Office
10.1 Definitions
10.1.1 "City Seal." The City Seal is the official symbol of the
City of Tamarac that is enerall bossed into and on all
official City documents.

10.1.2 "City Logo" The City Logo is the copywritten circular
emblem generally associated with the City of Tamarac.
10.1.3 "Incidents of Office" For purposes of this section,
"Incidents of Office" shall be defined as any symbols,
representations, titles or other indicia that are generally
associated with the City of Tamarac elected officials.
10.2 Elected officials may use the City Seal, City _ Logo and other
Incidents of Office for official RMoses in their official cgpacily.
10.3 Former elected officials may reauest annroval from the Ci
Commission in writing, to use the Cily SealCily Logo or other
Incidents of Office. Former elected officials shall gWy be allowed to
use the Cily Seal City Logo or other Incidents of Office upon
receiving such Rnor a royal by the Cily Commission. Former

provided that the word "Former" is used in conjunction with their
title to signify their current status.
SECTION 3. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith, be and the
same are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. If any clause, section or other part of this Resolution shall be held by any
court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, such unconstitutional or invalid
part shall be considered as eliminated and in no way affecting the validity of the other provisions
of this Resolution.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
