RESOLUTION NO. R-2006- r,
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
TIRES FROM MARTINO TIRE COMPANY FOR ROUTINE
AND EMERGENCY TIRE REPLACEMENT TO CITY
VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT, UTILIZING FLORIDA
SHERIFF'S ASSOCIATION BID AWARD 05/6-02-0105
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TIRES IN THE
QUANTITIES NEEDED BASED ON THE GOODYEAR TIRE
AND RUBBER COMPANY NET PRICE LIST; AUTHORIZING
BUDGET AMENDMENTS FOR PROPER ACCOUNTING
PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, a constant supply of tires is necessary to perform required routine and
emergency replacements of tires on City vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and
efficient operation; and
WHEREAS, The Florida Sheriffs Association awarded Bid No. 05/6-02-0105 to
Martino Tire Company, an authorized Goodyear Tire Center on March 1, 2005 with a
current expiration of February 27, 2007; and
WHEREAS, City of Tamarac Code, §6-154, allows the Purchasing Officer the
authority to join with other units in cooperative purchasing when the best interest of the City
would be served; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, the Fire Chief,
Director of Parks and Recreation, and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the
purchase of tires be awarded to Martino Tire Company utilizing Florida Sheriffs
Association Bid Award annually for a period to coincide with Bid No. 05/6-02-0105 and to
allow for future renewals of this contract assuming all terms and conditions of this contract

remain equal; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to purchase tires
utilizing Florida Sheriffs Association Bid No. 05/6-02-0105.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to purchase
tires from Martino Tire Company under Florida Sheriffs Association Bid Award 05/6-02-
0105, a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and to allow for future
renewals of this contract assuming all terms and conditions of this contract remain equal.
SECTION 3: The purchase of tires utilizing Florida Sheriff's Association Bid
Award 06/6-02-0105 is hereby authorized in quantities needed based on the Goodyear
Rubber and Tire Company Net Price List.
SECTION 4: Budget amendments required for this purchase for proper
accounting purposes are hereby approved.
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parks of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be
severable.
