CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2006-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING COMMISSION LIAISONS TO
THE INVESTMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE, PARKS AND
RECREATION BOARD, PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE,
SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD, AND VETERANS AFFAIRS
COMMITTEE TO SERVE UNTIL THE NEXT GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION; APPOINTING AN EDUCATION LIAISON
TO SERVE UNTIL THE NEXT GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 2-33 of the Tamarac Code provides for appointment
of the Mayor and City Commission members to serve as liaisons to Tamarac
Boards and Committees; and
WHEREAS, various members of the city commission expressed an
interest in serving as liaisons to the Investment Advisory Committee, Parks and
Recreation Board, Public Information Committee, Social Services Board and
Veterans Affairs Committee and as an Education Liaison; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is in agreement with these
appointments; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint
city commission members to serve as liaisons to the Investment Advisory
Committee, Parks and Recreation Board, Public Information Committee, Social

Services Board and Veterans Affairs Committee, and an Education Liaison for a
period not to extend past the next general municipal election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That Commissioner Harry Dressler is hereby appointed as
Commission Liaison to the Investment Advisory Committee pursuant to Section
2-33 of the Tamarac Code, said appointment not to extend past next general
municipal election.
SECTION 3: That Commissioner Harry Dressler is hereby appointed as
Commission Liaison to the Parks and Recreation Board pursuant to Section 2-33
of the Tamarac Code, said appointment not to extend past the next general
municipal election.
SECTION 4: That Vice Mayor Edward C. Portner is hereby appointed as
Commission Liaison to the Public Information Committee pursuant to Section 2-
33 of the Tamarac Code, said appointment not to extend past the next general
municipal election.

SECTION 5: That Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof is hereby appointed as
Commission Liaison to the Social Services Board pursuant to Section 2-33 of the
Tamarac Code, said appointment not to extend past the next general municipal
election.
SECTION 6: That Commissioner Marc L. Sultanof is hereby appointed as
Commission Liaison to the Veterans Affairs Committee pursuant to Section 2-33
of the Tamarac Code, said appointment not to extend past the next general
municipal election.
SECTION 7: That Commissioner Patte Atkins -Grad is hereby appointed
as Education Liaison, said appointment not to extend past the next general
municipal election.
SECTION 8: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 9: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 10: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
