R2006- C A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF WILLIAM STROMBERG AS A TRUSTEE OF THE FIRE PENSION BOARD TO SERVE A TWO-YEAR TERM ENDING APRIL 21, 2008; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 16-331 of the Tamarac Code provides for appointment of trustees to the Police Pension Board; and WHEREAS, Section 16-331(3) of the Tamarac Code provides for appointment of one trustee selected by the other four trustees, and appointed, as a ministerial act, by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac is desirous of confirming the appointment of William Stromberg to the Fire Pension Board to serve a two-year term ending April 21, 2008; and and WHEREAS, the Trustees of the Fire Pension Board recommend approval; WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to confirm the appointment of William Stromberg as a trustee to the Fire Pension Board to serve until April 21, 2008 or until such time as reappointments are made. Reso. #10971 May 16, 2006 Page 2 of 3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac confirms the appointment of William Stromberg as a trustee to the Fire Pension Board to serve a two-year term ending April 21, 2008. SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 11 u Temp.
