CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2004 —/ / W
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT GRANT
FUNDING FROM USA TENNIS FLORIDA IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,500.00, WITH A . CITY MATCH OF
$2,500.00, TO HELP PROMOTE AND DEVELOP
TENNIS ON CITY OF TAMARAC PUBLIC TENNIS
COURTS; AMENDING THE GRANTS FUND BUDGET
DURING THE NEXT QUARTERLY BUDGET ACTIONS;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to provide its
residents and visitors a higher level of service by enhancing and improving its
outdoor recreation programs; and
WHEREAS, USA Tennis Florida provides grant funds to Parks and Recreation
Departments to help promote and develop tennis on their public tennis courses; and
WHEREAS, a grant from USA Tennis Florida in the amount of $2,500.00 has
been approved and provided to the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the provided grant funds are to be matched dollar for dollar by the
City of Tamarac and be used for hiring a certified tennis professional, hosting a
Development Coaches Workshop or offering a tennis league and subsequent event
for those participants; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of these funds requires the amending of
estimated revenues and expenditures within the Grants Fund Budget; and

WHEREAS, actions requiring amendment of the budget are performed during
regular quarterly budget amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to
be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to accept
USA Tennis Florida grant funds in the amount of $2,500.00, with a City match of
$2,500.00, for a total program cost of $5,000.00, to promote and develop tennis on
City of Tamarac public tennis courts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA;
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac hereby accepts $2,500.00 in grant funds
from USA Tennis Florida, with a City match of $2,500.00, to be used to promote and
develop tennis on City of Tamarac public tennis courts.
SECTION 3: The City Commission authorizes the appropriate City Officials to
include the amendment of the Grants Fund in the amount of $2,500.00 during the
next quarterly budget amendment.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part
or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications
of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
