R-2004-//� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO SEEK GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE BROWARD BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 WITH A LOCAL MATCH IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 FOR A TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $20,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO TAMARAC COMMONS PARK; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to provide open space and recreational opportunities within the City; and WHEREAS, the City is in the process of developing Tamarac Commons Park at the southwest corner of Pine Island Road and McNab Road; and WHEREAS, funds are available through the 2004 Broward Beautiful Community Grant Program for purposes of improving, enhancing and preserving the natural beauty and environment in Broward County; and WHEREAS, the City desires to provide for additional landscaping at Tamarac Commons Park; and 1 TR 10458 — May 18, 2004 Page 2 WHEREAS, the City is willing to match the 2004 Broward Beautiful Community Grant Program request of $10,000 with City funds in the amount of $10,000 upon approval of the application; and WHEREAS, the Assistant City Manager and the Director of Parks and Recreation recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to apply for a 2004 Broward Beautiful Community Grant Community Grant for improvements to Tamarac Commons Park. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution. Section 2: The appropriate City staff and City Officials are hereby authorized to complete and submit an application for 2004 Broward Beautiful Community Grant funds for $10,000 providing for a City match of $10,000 upon approval of -the application, a copy of which is hereto attached as Exhibit A. Section 3: All resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. TR 10458 — May 18, 2004 Page 3 Section 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this Resolution. You may use the "Detailed Planting Plan" sheet provide. Show what the approximate scale is so we can tell how far apart the plants are spaced. Consider the full grown size of the plant when deciding where to plant each plant, avoid conflicts between plants, and between plants and utilities and built structures. (Remember you get extra points for putting the "Right Tree in the Right Place") B. BUDGET SUMMARY WORK SHEET Complete and attach the "Bud et Summary Work Sheet" in addition complete and attach the "Additional Costs Worksheet" to calculate additional costs including: Professional Services costs, Value of Volunteer Hours, Hardscape Costs, Tree And Plant Removal costs, and other miscellaneous costs. Print-out of digital photos may only be submitted if a CD with the electronic digital photo files in JPG format are submitted along with hard copies of the photographs. Only one CD per project is required. All photos regardless of format must be clearly labeled with project name, location and view orientation. D.
