R-2004-� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING REQUESTS FROM THE TAMARAC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR IN -KIND SUPPORT AND TO WAIVE ALL FEES FOR THE TASTE OF TAMARAC EVENT TO BE HELD AT THE TAMARAC COMMUNITY CENTER ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2004, FROM 12:00 P.M. TO 4:00 P.M.; PROVIDING FOR PROPER INSURANCE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has received a request from the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce to waive all fees, and for certain in -kind support services for their Taste of Tamarac event to be held at the Tamarac Community Center on Saturday, November 13, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (attached as Exhibit 1); and WHEREAS, the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization and requests waiver of all fees; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida, wishes to continue to support the Chamber of Commerce for this community event; and WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends approval of the request to waive all fees and for the City of Tamarac to provide certain inkind support services for the Taste of Tamarac event to be held November 13, 2004; and 1 Temp. Reso #10571 - September 30, 2004 Page 2 Rev. 1 — 10/15/04 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the request for waiver of all fees and to provide certain inkind support services for the Taste of Tamarac event to be held November 13, 2004. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the request to waive all fees and to provide certain inkind services as listed below for the Taste of Tamarac event to be held at the Tamarac Community Center on Saturday, November 13, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., is HEREBY APPROVED. • Waiver of Community Center Gym rental fees • Continuous shuttle transportation from Tamarac City Hall on the day of the event from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. • Fire Inspector call out + Assistance in event operations from the Special Events and Parks Divisions • City electrician to be scheduled to work on the day of the event to address any electrical issues • Tamarac Water (50 cases) to be distributed to patrons on the day of the event + Use of the Tamarac Community Center west walls to display Children's artwork • Assistance in event setup and breakdown from the Tamarac Teen Council • City showcase area featuring departments and services of interest to the general public SECTION 3: That insurance coverage in a form and amount acceptable to the City's Risk Manager and an executed hold harmless agreement in a form acceptable to the City's Risk Manager be provided to the City before the event. 1 1 �I i Temp. Reso #10571 -September 30, 2004 Page 3 Rev. 1 — 10/15/04 SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 271h day of October, 2004. Reso. #10571 Exhibit 1 41o; Maroc The Tamarac Chamber of Commerce is hosting A Taste of Tamarac and Business Expo 2004 at the Tamarac Community Center on Saturday, November 13, 2004 from 12noon to 4:OOpm. In order to ensure the success of the event, I would like to request the following assistance from the City of Tamarac: • Continuous shuttle transportation from Tamarac City Hall and Challenger Elementary School on the day of the event starting at 11:30am to 4:30pm. • Tamarac Fire Rescue to be on site for emergency medical services. • Use of the City Show mobile. • Assistance in event operations from the Special Events Division. • City Electrician to be scheduled to work on the day of the event to address electrical issues. • Partial 57th Street Closure (eastbound lane only) through 841h Terrace to alleviate parking issues. • Tamarac Water (50 cases) to be distributed to patrons on the day of the event. • Use of the Tamarac Community Center west walls to display Children's artwork • Assistance in event setup and breakdown from Tamarac Teen Club. • City Showcase Area featuring departments and services of interest to the General public. • Alcoholic Beverages will be sold and samplings will be given out during the event.
