R-2004-015d A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ONE RESIDENT TRUSTEE TO THE POLICE PENSION BOARD FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM ENDING JANUARY 8, 2007; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WHEREAS, Section 16-571 of the Tamarac Code provides for members of the Police Pension Board; and WHEREAS, Resident Trustees shall be legal residents of the City of Tamarac appointed by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, Patti Lynn was appointed to serve as a Resident Trustee to the Police Pension Board via Resolution R2002-347; and WHEREAS, as provided in Resolution R2002-347, Ms. Lynn's term expires January 8, 2005, or when new appointments are made, and a Resident Trustee must be appointed to serve for two years; and WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint one Resident Trustee to the Police Pension Board to serve a new two-year term. u Page 2 Temp. Reso. #10568 October 1, 2004 Revision #1 December 6, 2004 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 16-571 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is hereby appointed as Resident Trustee of the Police Pension Board for a two- year term expiring January 8, 2007 or until such time as reappointments are made: Patti Lynn SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 Page 3 Temp.
