CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2004 - ��
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A REQUEST FROM
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL CENTER TO WAIVE
ROOM RENTAL FEES FOR THEIR H2U HEALTH FAIR TO
BE HELD IN THE BALLROOM AT THE TAMARAC
COMMUNITY CENTER ON MARCH 19, 2004; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office has received a request from University
Hospital and Medical Center to waive all room rental fees for their H2U Health Fair
which is scheduled to be held in the Ballroom at the Tamarac Community Center on
March 19, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac and University Hospital and Medical Center
have an ongoing relationship and have partnered on several projects that have
benefited the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac, including the annual
donation and administration of free flu shots by University Hospital and Medical Center
to Tamarac residents and City employees; and
WHEREAS, a public purpose will be served by waiving the fees, such that the
City of Tamarac supports efforts to maintain and improve the health and wellness of its
citizens and residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Director of Parks and Recreation recommend
waiver of room rental fees in the amount of $400.00, for the "H2U" Health Fair
scheduled to be held in the Ballroom at the Tamarac Community Center on March 19,
2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to waive room
rental fees in the amount of $400.00, for the H2U Health Fair scheduled to be held in
the Ballroom at the Tamarac Community Center on March 19, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to
2:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing Whereas clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution upon adoption
hereof.
SECTION 2: That the request by University Hospital and Medical Center to
waive room rental fees in the amount of $400,00, for the H2U Health Fair scheduled to
be held in the Ballroom at the Tamarac Community Center on March 19, 2004, from
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
