RESOLUTION NO. R-2004-177
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, TO
APPROVE THE ADOPTION OF THE
"WOODLANDS COLOR PALETTE" PURSUANT
TO CHAPTER 24 ENTITLED, "ZONING
ARTICLE X ENTITLED, "WOODLANDS
OVERLAY ZONING DISTRICT", SECTION 24-807
ENTITLED, "EXTERIOR COLORS FOR SINGLE-
FAMILY RESIDENCES (BASE BUILDING
COLORS, ACCENT COLORS AND TRIM
COLORS)" (CASE NO.9-Z-04); PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac wishes to preserve the
health, welfare and quality of life of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Woodlands Homeowner's Association requested the adoption of an
Overlay Zoning District in order to continue to preserve the neighborhood character,
promote its high quality and appearance and maintain property values; and
WHEREAS, the Woodlands Overlay Zoning District creates specific regulations that
would serve to continue the preservation of the neighborhood character, promote its high
quality and appearance, maintain property values and protect the public health, safety and
welfare in accordance with the community standards; and
WHEREAS, Section 24-807 of the Woodlands Overlay Zoning District adopted via
Ordinance No. 0-2004- requires the establishment of a Woodlands Color Palette; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development and the Building Official
recommend approval; and

WHEREAS, the Woodlands Color Palette provides for exterior color choices for
single-family residences located. in the Woodlands; and
WHEREAS, the Woodlands Color Palette further provides a color number, base
building color, secondary color, and trim color for single-family residences; and
WHEREAS, should the exterior surface of a single-family residence within the
Woodlands require painting, the property owner shall refer to the Woodlands Color Palette
for the list of approved colors; and
WHEREAS, the property owner shall than apply to the Building and Code
Compliance Department for a no cost paint permit that will be reviewed for consistency with
the Woodlands Color Palette; and
WHEREAS, the Woodlands Color Palette may be modified if a color choice is not
available by the manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, City Commission approval is required for changes to the Woodlands
Color Palette; and
WHEREAS, the official Woodlands Color Palette will be housed in the Building and
Code Compliance Department and the City Clerks Office; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
adoption of the "Woodlands Color Palette" pursuant to Chapter 24 entitled, "Zoning*",
Article X entitled, "Woodlands Overlay Zoning District", Section 24-807 entitled, "Exterior
colors for single-family residences (base building colors, accent colors and trim colors)".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE

CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the City Commission hereby approves the adoption of the
"Woodlands Color Palette" pursuant to Chapter 24 entitled, "Zoning*", Article X entitled,
"Woodlands Overlay Zoning District", Section 24-807 entitled, "Exterior colors for single-
family residences (base building colors, accent colors and trim colors)" (attached hereto as
Exhibit 1')
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
