R-2004 R=1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE EXPENDITURE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2004; AMENDING THE BUDGET OF ESTIMATED REVENUES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2004; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission, on September 10, 2003, adopted Ordinance No. 0-2003-24, approving the annual budget for fiscal year 2004; and WHEREAS, having completed six months of the present fiscal year, the City Manager has identified the need to amend the budget to properly reflect actions previously approved by the Commission and to appropriate funds to cover unanticipated costs that have arisen; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined, through an assessment of available resources and current obligations of the City, that sufficient funds exist to carry out these actions; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended adjustments to the present annual budget based on the aforementioned assessment; and WHEREAS, these adjustments require the amending of estimated revenues and appropriated expenditures found within the present annual budget; and WHEREAS, the adjustments address issues deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Tamarac; and 1 Temporary Resolution #10397 April 14, 2004 Page 2 WHEREAS, the City Manager and Director of Finance recommend that the FY 2004 budget be amended as indicated below; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to amend the FY 2004 Budget to address those operational areas requiring action. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution. SECTION 2: The budget of the City of Tamarac is hereby amended by departmental appropriation, as follows: General Fund (001) City Commission $16,000 City Manager $16,000 Grants Fund (153) Parks & Recreation $200,000 Comm unity_Deyelopment Block Grant Fund (154) Community Development $39,877 State Housing Initiative PartRgrshj Fund (155) Community Development $90,119 Stormwater Management Fund (410) Public Works Department $450,000 Public Services Facilities Fund (320� Parks & Recreation $1,616,264 Street_ Construction Fund (312) Public Works Department $1,043,128 1 1 General Street Improvement Fund (313) Non -Departmental General Cap ital__Outlay Fund 31 p) Public Works Department Temporary Resolution #10397 April 14, 2004 Page 3 $250,640 $3,693,411 SECTION 3: The revenue budget is amended to provide for the second quarter budget appropriations as follows: Fund Balance, General Fund (001) $32,000 Grants, Grant Fund (153) $200,000 Grants, CDBG Fund (154) $39,877 Grants, SHIP Fund (155) $90,119 Grants, Stormwater Fund (410) $450,000 Grants, Public Svcs Facilities Fund (320) $1,616,264 Interest Earnings, Street Const. Fund (312) $1,043,128 Interest Earnings, Gen. Street Imp. Fund (313) $250,640 Internal Transfer, General Capital Fund (310) $3,693,411 SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
