A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO ACCEPT A
GRANT AWARD FROM BROWARD BEAUTIFUL IN
THE AMOUNT OF $10,000, PROVIDING FOR THE
REQUIRED ONE TO ONE CITY MATCH FOR
BEAUTIFICATION AND LANDSCAPING OF THE
ENTRANCE AND PARKING AREA OF MCNAB PARK;
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS
TO AMEND THE GRANTS FUND BUDGET IN THE
AMOUNT OF $10,000 AND APPROPRIATE SAID
FUNDS INCLUDING ANY AND ALL SUBSEQUENT
BUDGETARY TRANSFERS IN ACCORDANCE
WITH PROPER ACCOUNTING PROCEDURES;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to enhance the
entrance and parking area of McNab Park on McNab Road; and
WHEREAS, the City has purchased the property for McNab Park which is in
need of landscaping and irrigation improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac's grant application to Broward Beautiful to
beautify and landscape the entrance and parking area of McNab Park was approved
for $10,000; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to match the $10,000 in grant funding with a one to
one cash match with funds from the existing budget for construction of the park; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Parks & Recreation,
recommend approval; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to accept the Broward
Beautiful grant award in the amount of $10,000, a copy of which is attached hereto as
Exhibit A, to beautify and landscape the entrance and parking area to McNab Park.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to accept the
grant award in the amount of $10,000 from Broward Beautiful, a copy of said award is
hereto attached as Exhibit A, with a one to one City match for beautification and
landscaping of the entrance and parking area of McNab Park.
Section 3: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to amend the
grants fund budget in the amount of $10,000 and appropriate said funds including any
and all subsequent budgetary transfers in accordance with proper accounting
procedures.
Section 4: All resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this
Resolution.

Section 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.

Dear Ms. Perron,
Thank you for your participation in the Broward Beautiful Community Grant Program. We are pleased to inform
you that your application has been approved in the amount of $10,000.00.
When your project has been completed, you must submit three (3) copies of a close-out report. Each copy of the
report should include color photographs (no color copies) of the site displaying the Broward Beauffw sign (both of
the project during installation and after completion), receipts for all materials purchased, and a statement that the
project has been completed in conformance with the approved plans. If your match consisted of volunteer labor, a
total of the number of volunteer hours must be included. Grant money will be awarded only after Broward
Beautiful approves of both the close-out report and completes a project installation verification.
Please remember that your organization is responsible for meeting all application guidelines, including
posting Broward Beautiful's Community Grant Program sign on the project site during the development and for 60
days after its completion. The sign may be picked up at the Department of Planning and Environmental Protection
at 218 SW 1st Avenue, Fort Lauderdale.
The attached form must be signed and returned to Broward Beautiful by January 30, 2002 in order to access the
