R2003-280 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER TO THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) COMMITTEE TO SERVE THE REMAINING PORTION OF A ONE-YEAR TERM EXPIRING JUNE 25, 2004; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing one member to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Committee to complete the remaining portion of a one-year term expiring June 25, 2004; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-233 and 2-234 of the Tamarac Code (attached as Exhibit A) the EMS Committee shall consist of seven members who shall be appointed by the City Commission on an annual basis; and WHEREAS, the Fire Chief and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint one member to the EMS Committee to complete the remaining portion of a one- year term expiring June 25, 2004. Reso. #10196 Page 2 July 22, 2003 Revision #1 11/19/03 Revision #2 12/15/03 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Sections 2-233 and 2-234 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is hereby appointed as a member of the EMS Committee to complete the remaining portion of a one-year term expiring June 25, 2004, or until such time as reappointments are made: Harold Steiner SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 1 Temp. There is created and established an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) committee which shall be a permanent agency of the city and which shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the city commission. The members of the EMS committee shall be appointed by the city commission on an annual basis and serve at the pleasure of the city commission without compensation. (Ord.
