CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2003- f1C
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, SETTING THE DATE TO APPOINT
MEMBERS TO THE CHARTER BOARD; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 10, 2002, Tamarac electors approved
Ordinance 0-2002-12 which provided for an appointed Charter Board rather than
an elected Charter Board; and
WHEREAS, Section 8.01 of the Tamarac Charter was amended to provide
appointment of Charter Board members by the City Commission, said
appointments to be made on a date set by resolution of the City Commission;
and
WHEREAS, at a workshop meeting held on March 24, 2003, the City
Commission expressed an interest in making appointments to the Charter Board
on April 23, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to make
appointments of Charter Board members on April 23, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the City Commission shall make appointments to the
Charter Board on April 23, 2003.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
