CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2002-37
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A FOUR -WEEK
CONSECUTIVE PERIOD (JULY 22, 2002 — AUGUST 16, 2002)
DURING WHICH TIME THE CITY COMMISSION WILL NOT
SCHEDULE ANY REGULAR MEETINGS PURSUANT TO
SECTION 4.06 OF THE CITY CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac Charter provides that the City
Commission shall meet regularly at least twice a month, except during a four -
week consecutive period to be determined by the City Commission no later than
April 15th of each year; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter requires the City Manager to submit to the
City Commission by July 30th of each year the proposed budget for the following
year, set a tentative millage, and submit same to the property appraiser by the
end of July according to the "Truth in Millage" TRIM regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission prefers to start budget workshops during
July; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the vacation schedule of
the City Commission be July 22, 2002 — August 16, 2002; and

WHEREAS, in order to comply with the City Charter, the City Commission
of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens
and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve City Manager's recommendation
to designate July 22, 2002 — August 16, 2002 as the four consecutive week
period during which the City Commission will not schedule any regular meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 4.06(a) of the Tamarac City
Charter, the Tamarac City Commission hereby determines that the Commission
will not schedule any regular meetings during the four -week consecutive period
of July 22, 2002 - August 16, 2002.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
