CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2002-77
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE MARCH 12,
2002 GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE CHARTER BOARD DISTRICTS 1
AND 3; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on March 12, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the candidates for the Charter Board Districts 1 and 3 ran unopposed;
WHEREAS, the Broward County Canvassing Board has canvassed the results of
the machine voting and absentee ballots and has certified such results to the City Clerk of
the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from the Broward County
Canvassing Board and has presented their findings to the City Commission for a formal
Certification and Declaration of the results; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to declare the results
of the March 12, 2002 General Election for the Charter Board Districts 1 and 3.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and

confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: Robert P. Franklin, having run unopposed for the Charter Board District
1 position has been duly elected to that position for a term of three (3) years.
SECTION 3: Sheldon L. Satty, having run unopposed for the District 3 Charter
position has been duly elected to that position for a term of three (3) years.
SECTION 4: Robert P. Franklin and Sheldon L. Satty shall take office in accordance
with the provisions of Section 2-27 of the Tamarac Code.
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 19th day of March, 2002.
