R-2002-186 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING NINE (9) MEMBERS TO THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO SERVE ONE-YEAR TERMS EXPIRING JUNE 24, 2003; APPOINTING TWO (2) ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO SERVE ONE-YEAR TERMS EXPIRING JUNE 24, 2003; APPOINTING A CHAIRPERSON TO THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO SERVE A ONE-YEAR TERM EXPIRING JUNE 24, 2003; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing nine (9) members, two (2) alternate members and a Chairperson to the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one-year terms expiring June 24, 2003; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-106 and 2-107 of the Tamarac Code (attached hereto as Exhibit A) the Consumer Affairs Committee shall consist of nine (9) members and two (2) alternate members who shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one-year terms; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the Chairperson of the Consumer Affairs Committee shall be appointed by the City Commission; and C Temp. Reso. #9701 March 5, 2002 Page 2 WHEREAS, the Public Information Officer and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint nine (9) members, two (2) alternate members and a Chairperson to the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one-year terms expiring June 24, 2003. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the following people are hereby appointed as members of the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one-year terms expiring June 24, 2003, or until such time as reappointments are made: Margaret T. Clark Robert P. Franklin Faye Koch Joseph LaPlaca Jeanette Rebhun Eli L. Schneider Walter Siegel Allan M. Smith Herman R. Weiss E 1 1 Temp. Reso. #9701 March 5, 2002 Page 3 SECTION 3: That pursuant to Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the following people are hereby appointed as alternate members of the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one-year terms expiring June 24, 2003 or until such time as reappointments are made: Victoria L. Druding Seymour Lederkramer SECTION 4: That pursuant to Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is hereby appointed as Chairperson of the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve a one-year term expiring June 24, 2003 or until such time as reappointments are made: Faye Koch SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
