CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2002-242
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA SUPPORTING OUR SISTER CITY,
FATSA, TURKEY; PROVIDING FOR A DONATION OF FIRE
RESCUE EQUIPMENT TO THE CITY OF FATSA, TURKEY;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has designated the City of Fatsa, Turkey as a
Sister City; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a request from M. Kemal Camas, Mayor of Fatsa,
Turkey for equipment to assist with improving the fire rescue capabilities of our Sister City
of Fatsa, Turkey; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to assist Fatsa, Turkey in improving their fire and
rescue capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it in the public interest to donate assets of
the Tamarac Fire Rescue Department to the City of Fatsa, Turkey to assist them with their
fire rescue service; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes the City Manager or designee to
identify surplus equipment in the Fire Rescue Department for delivery to the City of Fatsa,
Turkey; and

WHEREAS, such equipment identified as surplus for the City of Tamarac and
helpful to our Sister City of Fatsa, Turkey is listed in `Exhibit A'; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to assist our Sister
City, Fatsa, Turkey in improving its fire and rescue capabilities by sending them equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA-
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac supports the efforts to assist our Sister City,
Fatsa, Turkey.
SECTION 3: A donation of Tamarac Fire Rescue surplus equipment to the City of
Fatsa, Turkey, listed in `Exhibit A' is hereby approved.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 6: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 111h day of September, 2002.
